Ohhhhh hubby...

Gruss had his surgery yesterday for the lump removal.  All went well and Dusty was able to pick him up at 7:30pm.  I was just walking in the door from a long day at school as he was walking out to get Gruss.  Therefore I didn't go and opted to clean up and make dinner so we could still eat at a reasonable hour.

This is where the mistake was made.  I'm positive Dusty walked in the vets office, told them who he was picking up, saw Gruss walk out from the back, and that was that.  He had his dog still in one piece, and all was dandy in the world.

They get home and I check out Gruss and gave him a big 'ol hug.  Then I start in on the questions with Dusty.

1.  How did he do?
2.  Did the vet give any indication on what he thought the lump was after he removed it?
3.  How long to get the biopsy results?
4.  Did they do the x-ray today or are they doing it in 2 weeks?

To which I get a lot of "I don't know, I forgot to ask" answers.

Later on in the evening he declared that he was going to give him his meds "just in case" because he forgot to ask when to start him on them (now or in the morning).  Aye aye aye.  Just super.

Lesson learned on my end: Never trust him to take future children to the Dr's without a list of questions and a pencil to write down the answers ;)

I called this morning and the biopsy results will take 7-10 business days.  All is well with Gruss so far post surgery.  We have seen him scratch the wound a little tonight so the itching must be setting in.  He seems to be having a great time going along with Dusty to work though :)

The unofficial end of summer

Happy Labor Day!

I'm having a very low key and relaxed weekend.  We've pretty much accomplished nothing this weekend except a little cleaning, laundry, organizing, and errands.  Which is perfectly fine by me since we have some busy weekends coming up including our anniversary, a crab feast, and hopefully a weekend trip to the beach!

Last night we headed out to Cold Stone Creamery since we had a gift card.  It was the first time I had been there in years, and the first time Dusty had been there at all.  Can I just ask why people love that place so much?  I think it's cool how they can add in whatever you want, but the ice cream itself is not good.  We don't plan on going back.  Bruster's is 50 times better :)

So.. I'm not good about posting..

I am so bad at this blogging thing.  I feel like I never have anything to talk about so I just don't post.  I guess I should just start posting random things like everyone else does. Hehehe..

So the past ELEVEN MONTHS since I've posted have been pretty good.  Full of ups and downs as usual but more ups then downs I suppose.  Here's a short list of things that have happened..

~I finished my first year of the Special Ed program at Towson.  This in itself kept me pretty busy all year.  If all goes as planned only 9 months until graduation!
~I went on a cruise with my mom.
~My brother got engaged :)
~We had a wonderful summer full of traveling and relaxation.
~We went to Hatteras twice and didn't have to worry about hurricanes ;)
~My friend Sarah got married in January.
~Aubrey turned 1.
~We went to the Raven's/Niner's game on Thanksgiving Day last year.

Our two year anniversary is soon approaching.  I can't believe its been two years since we were in Hatteras getting married!  We don't really have any plans so far.  Unfortunately our yellow lab Gruss has a lump in him that he has to get removed three days before the anniversary.  So we may end up just having a quiet night in depending on how he is.  Either way it doesn't matter just as long as the lump is nothing too serious, which we won't know until they take it out and biopsy it.
